Dr. Peter Swaszek is a professor in the Department of Electrical,
Computer, and Biomedical Engineering at the University of
Rhode Island with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton
University. He teaches a wide variety of courses, including
digital systems, communications and controls, image processing, and stochastic processes. His research interests are in signal
processing with a focus on digital communications and electronic
navigation systems (including Loran and DGPS) and he is the
author/co-author of almost 150 technical papers/presentations. Prof.
Swaszek spent the spring 2001 semester and the 2007-2008
academic year on sabbatical at the US Coast Guard Academy
focusing on Loran navigation and communications.
